Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Hi mummies! Am a FTM at 32 weeks now and just woke up with a scare this morning. I've never had sleep difficulties throughout my life, but over the past few weeks my husband had noticed that I've been snoring a lot (probably due to tiredness), but this morning was the first time I woke up gasping/choking for air, twice in probably an hour. I googled and seems like it's sleep apnea. I'm just very very worried that this is affecting baby. Used the fetal doppler and his heartbeat is as per normal, and he has been actively kicking around since then, what he normally does every morning. Just wondering if any mummies have experienced this before and if this is really something concerning for baby especially. Do share any of your experiences. Thank you so much 🙏

Please don't wait on this one, waking up gasping for air twice in an hour during pregnancy is something your gynae or O&G team needs to know about today, not after the weekend. It's good that baby seems active and the doppler looks normal, but a doctor is really the only one who can properly assess whether you and baby are both safe, so do call your clinic first thing or head to the hospital if you feel unsure.
