I had something similar around that time and it was quite unsettling, but my gynae also said it was just the uterus stretching as everything expands. Since both your doctor and TCM are on the same page and there's no bleeding, that's actually a good sign. That said, if the cramps ever feel sharper than before or if you do notice any bleeding, it's worth flagging to your gynae just to be sure. Many of us go through this in the first and second trimester, so you're definitely not alone.
