No appetite and food aversion

Hi.. I am in my 7 weeks now. About last week I started to have lesser appetite and food aversion. Sometimes feeling nausea as well… Is it common?

Ya I also have same symptoms as you. I lose 1-2 kg during my first trimester as well cause my appetite was poor. My food aversion quite bad also; I just cannot swallow some food such as prawn and scallop (which I used to eat) and had to split it out when I tried to eat them. Then I also have nausea (just feel like wanting to vomit) but didn’t actually vomit anything. So I can relate to you (: If it is okay for me to suggest, just continue to drink and eat what you can, and don’t force yourself too much. Rest more and share these symptoms with your gynae. You will be fine. Take care and all the best

I can’t remember exactly when but the food version lasted for a few weeks and I felt better before 12 weeks. I’m 26 weeks now and so far gained about 2.5kg like that. But I heard everyone has different symptoms and weight gain; it doesn’t mean it is good or bad. Just keep your gynae informed and your gynae will advise you accordingly based on your needs and situation.

It’s very common! Advice from my doctor is to just eat/drink anything you can handle (even if it’s “unhealthy”) Something is better than nothing.

Yes normal. Super tired and low appetite. I lost 3kg. Relied on dry crackers, milo, toast, fruits, yoghurt

Very common. I snacked frequently to curb the nausea. Hopefully it'll go away by end of first trimester.

Yes it is :)
