First you have to define success and happiness. More than what you say, maintaining a positive attitude is key to helping your children develop confidence which will lead them to excel at school and work.

I agree each person's definition of success is different. Mine would be based on attitudes and behaviour. Happiness should come from within.
You need to clearly define to yourself and them what it means to be successful in life. How old are your kids?
