I totally felt being burnt out of work last month. Experiencing it actually made me research on what actually causes it and how to move forward eventually. American Psychological Association’s David Ballard, PsyD described burnout as “an extended period of time where someone experiences exhaustion and a lack of interest in things, resulting in a decline in their performance.” (Source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/learnvest/2013/04/01/10-signs-youre-burning-out-and-what-to-do-about-it/#331e4b35e01a) Based on the article, a clear sign that you are burnt out is when you emotionally, mentally, and physically feel exhausted. When you are more pessimistic about everything and there is no motivation to get things done, then that is the feeling of being burnt out. Check out the book, "The Joy of Burnout: How Burning Out Unlocks the Way to a Better, Brighter Future by Dr. Dina Glouberman". It is a good read about turning the feeling of burnout into a positive thing. Hope this helps! :)
