I followed my confinement nanny's instructions, bathe with herb water, don't wash my hair for now cause I cut short hair so still ok, eat confinement food full of ginger, drink red date tea, etc As I can't take hot weather, I have my air conditioner on at 27-28° must not blow direct and avoid fan. plus feet should not touch the floor directly must wear socks.

I somehow follow on the eating/drinking part (no cold food/drinks, eat soupy stuff, more veges, food cannot be so spicy) for 40 days (Malay culture). But then i still go out here and there cause baby got check up. But i don't go out for leisure. Run errands and be back home ASAP.

It will be good to do the 1 month confinement (for rest and recovery) but you can tweak it to your convenience. Like showering everyday but with herbal bath, drinking hot drinks and not just red date tea, wear gloves to wash dishes so that you can avoid touching cold water if possible.

I didn't follow i shower already the nxt day after my delivery i also went for walking, wear sleeveless and shorts i never wear long sleave and nothing happen to me im still ok..i also eat all the foods that i never eat when i was pregnant..drink cold drinks also

I didn't do confinement food during my first few weeks post delivery and I regret it. I was 7 kgs over my normal weight 8 months after delivering my son. My trainer has put me on a confinement like diet in month 9 and I'm already losing weight every week!

The moment I reach home from the hospital, I showered and secretly drank KOI 🤣 I ran out too! But food wise still only eat confinement food don’t dare to anyhow eat as I delivered via emergency c-sec. But experiencing backache every now and then..

As far as I know, Europeans don't follow confinement rules, and they're fine. The Western school of thought where mothers should ambulate as much as possible to aid recovery conflicts Chinese beliefs where a mother should rest as much as possible.

Do confinement as per Chinese practice or not doesn't matter. What matters is to REST well and take good care of your body during the first 2 months post delivery. This allows your body to recover and be stronger.

Didn't really follow, I shower everyday, wash hair alternate day, go shopping after check up etc. Confinement lady don't know how to cook too, (she fried nuggets🤪)
