Food/Drink not to consume during BF

Hi mums, FTM here and just gave birth around a week ago. Wondering what food or drink that must be avoided during BF? I only know caffeine and alcohol. TIA. 😊

I DID NOT have seafood except fish, ginger, cold drinks, ice creams, junk food, less salt, less sugar, less msg, no caffeine, no alcohol. I strictly have confinement food and all are to prep hot/warm. This is for 44 days confinement.

Baby Pillow Age Recommendation

When does a newborn baby need to use pillow? Is 1 month too early? Thank you.

Err, technically speaking babies don’t need pillows at all. But let’s say if you do want to use, make sure someone is with baby all the time incase of SIDS.

Baby full month gift

Hi mums/parents, any idea for baby full month gift? I am not local, so wondering what are the common gifts for baby full month? Or is it up to me? If have any recommended vendors can share as well. Thank you!

Best is to give vouchers/red packet. Many times we all thought of the same gifts and the parents will end up with many duplicates so vouchers and red packets are the best. They can get whatever they want :)

Newborn eyes safety/sensitivity

Hi mums/parents, I am a FTM here. Just gave birth around 9 days ago. How bright light at home that is safe for newborn baby eyes? Wondering if baby stare at the ceiling, and happen to see the lights are ok. The lights are not close to baby, just that unsure if it is too strong for bb or not. TIA. :)

Hi, though baby doesn't stare at things for more than seconds, still I would advise not to use really bright lights in baby's room. May be upto 9 watts can be considered as safe provided limited number of lamps in a room.

How long do I have to wait to start breast pump once wake up in the morning?

Ventolin (Asmol) side effects

Hi there, does anyone take Ventolin before? I was prescribe this for my on and off contractions. Currently I am 27 week. The nurse told me that the side effect will be hand tremors and heart palpitations. Wondering if you who taken this medicine also got these side effects? TIA. 😊

Leg/foot massage to recommend during pregnancy

Is it normal to experience twinges that is not in uterus area?

Hi mummies, this is my first time pregnancy. So a few days ago, while I was sitting down, I twisted my body slightly because someone was calling from behind. Since then, I had the on and off twinges on my left side lower abdominal (around above the vagina area? I am unsure too what to call it). The twinges lasted for 2 days. As for today seems no more already. I am gonna do my 8 week ultrasound scan next week, but sometimes I feel like can’t wait to do it, so that I know whether all is good or not. Did 5 week 5 days ultrasound and heard the heartbeat already. Please share your experience regarding this. TIA.

TCM + Western Gynae/medicine

Hi mummies, this is my 1st pregnancy and currently I am 6 weeks pregnant. Did my first ultrasound today and had a consultation with my gynae. Before that I consulted with my TCM doctor and she prescribed me the powder for my early pregnancy. My gynae prescribed me Duphaston due to my MC histories. When I asked whether safe to consume both TCM and western medicine, she didn’t give me 100% yes about my TCM. Just wondering, is there any of you who consume both TCM and western medicine? Thank you so much.

check with your TCM physician whether it’s safe to consume Chinese and western medicine together. TCM physicians generally are aware of western medication and their effects/uses. Some gynaes do not believe in TCM at all so they will not outrightly advise you ok or not ok.
