Body & incision hurt when sit or lay too long

Is it normal if you sit or lay too long after csection delivery (back home), whole body will hurt extra & incision will hurt a little more

Yes normal. Try to wear your binder as it helps to keep the incision area “compact”.

Those that did not wear binder thruout confinement, did your stomach still shrink back after few weeks ?

I’m 6 mths pp, didn’t bind my belly, didn’t engage in Malay massage, and my belly is still there! I blame the delicious lactation bakes 🤣

Post partum is a lonely journey

Its only been a few days since ive given birth and man, post partum is so lonely. You’re always being left alone, as everybody is so focused on baby and always want to surround baby. While you, the mother, is being pushed away. You don’t really have anyone there for you, like really there for you. I find myself crying every single day And after given birth, i find that my husband like only wants the baby and not me. People often forget that the mummy would also want someone to care for them too, physically and emotionally. #FTM

Sounds ironic but I miss being alone so much since baby is born. Take the time to rest and heal. Eat good food, watch a good show, take full nap and sleep, reward yourself for bringing life into the world. Text your friends for chats. Speak to your husband when baby’s asleep. Indulge while you can cause sleepiness nightsssssssss are coming!

KKH glucose and growth scan charges (private patient)

Hi! Does anyone knows how much is the glucose test and growth scan charges for KKH Private patient? Able to share the info ? Thanks!

From what I've generally heard, the glucose test (OGTT) and growth scan for KKH private patients tend to add up to around a few hundred dollars depending on whether other tests are bundled in that visit. A friend who delivered at KKH privately mentioned her individual scan visits were roughly in the $120, $150 range without any subsidy, though that can shift if your doctor adds on extras during the same appointment. It's worth noting that going through a polyclinic referral first can bring costs down quite a bit versus walking in directly as a private patient, so that trade-off is something to consider early. The safest move is probably to just call KKH's billing counter directly and ask for a breakdown, they're usually quite transparent about the estimated charges so you won't get a shock later.

When will water retention go back to normal

A week PP, csect, and my legs, ankle, thight, calf all still swollen up, water retention or something. Anyone knows when will it go back to normal ? Am not currently using compression socks

2 weeks 3 days for me. I counted because my feet really hurt

Do you wash baby bedsheets with baby laundry detergent or only baby clothes need?

And how about cloth bibs too or that’s not necessary. Thanks!

Csect incision a little discharge

I went to GP to take out my waterproof bandage as im scared to do it myself, day 8 PP, and theres a little yellowish discharge on the right side of the incision. The doc said the incision is a little wet. But she says its still okay and need more healing therefore she put a new waterproof bandage. Anyone faced the same thing before ? #firsttimemom

Eh don't worry too much, a little yellowish discharge at day 8 is actually something quite a few mums I know went through, the wound does take around 7 to 10 days to really start drying out properly, so you're right at that borderline stage. Good thing you went to the GP already and she had a look, the key things to watch out for from here are if it starts smelling bad, turns greenish or brown, becomes very swollen or warm to the touch, or if the pain gets worse instead of better, because those are the signs that it's going more in the wrong direction. The new waterproof bandage should help keep it clean and protected while it finishes healing, just try to keep the area dry and don't stress it with too much movement. That said, since every wound heals differently, it's really worth following up with your gynae or the hospital team rather than just the GP, just so someone who knows your full case can keep an eye on it, better safe than sorry, especially in the first two weeks!

Pressure feeling at lower abdomen

I am now at my 15 weeks. On and off will tend to have some pressure feeling on my lower abdomen, similarly to slight cramping especially empty my bladder. I do have 3 large fibroids >8cm outside my uterus. Is this normal? #firsttimemom #firstbaby #pleasehelp

Oh mama, I can imagine how worrying this must feel, especially as a first-time mum! From what I've heard from other mums with fibroids, that pressure and cramping sensation, especially after emptying your bladder, is actually quite commonly reported when fibroids are present, because they can press on surrounding areas and cause that uncomfortable tightening feeling. My neighbour went through something similar with a large fibroid during her pregnancy and she described it almost like a blood pressure cuff squeezing and releasing, which sounds very much like what you're experiencing. The honest truth though is that with fibroids as large as yours (over 8cm is no small thing), the experience really can vary quite a bit from person to person, some mums manage relatively well, but others do find the discomfort more intense as the uterus grows and competes for space. Please do flag this specifically to your OB or a maternal-foetal medicine specialist, because fibroids of that size during pregnancy really do deserve close monitoring, not just general reassurance.

Greenish diarrhea

First time encountering greenish diarrhea (just once). I don't feel any discomfort. Is it something I should be worried about?

One or two episodes of green stool can sometimes just be from something you ate, so it is not always a cause for panic. That said, since it came with a loose, watery consistency, it is worth keeping a close eye on how you feel over the next day or so. If it happens again, or you start getting stomach cramps, fever, or feel generally unwell, I would go see a doctor just to rule out anything that needs treatment. Better to get it checked and have peace of mind than to second-guess yourself at home.
