What are things you should not say to a pregnant woman?

Definitely don't make comments about her weight or say things like, "make sure you lose all your baby weight after the baby comes". Or pretty much avoid saying anything that will cause her to feel sad, stressed or worried. Whatever she feels, the baby will feel as well. Think about the baby's well being above anything else, please.

My friend's wife is about 36 week pregnant. he went for a gynae checkup and the doc is advising to admit her to the hospital next week, but for a normal delivery. Her EDD is mid april Is it advisable?

@samantha I am uncertain on the exact reason. The baby is already 3+ kgs, would that be a reason enough for the recommendation?

It's perfectly normal to suddenly get hairy since your hormones are increasing due to the pregnancy. It's also the same reason why we have such awesome hair during pregnancy too

Hi, I'm in week 25 now and suddenly feeling a lot more backache and sore lower abdomen. Together with this, I also had slight fever (only 1 night) and also had diarrhoea loose stools 5 times in the past 27 hours. Should I be concerned? because I'm going for a 2 week babymoon to UK and travel insurance does not cover pregnancy related issues.

Could you rush down to your gynae to get checked first? Those symptoms sound a lot like what I had when I was about to deliver, and I was 39 weeks pregnant. If the gynae gives you the all-clear, you should still take extra caution as baby is more important. A friend has been diagnosed with Polyhydramnios in her 37th week. What does it mean for her baby and her? Is there anything that she can do improve the situation?

Usually, expectant mothers with polyhydramnios will be advised to rest and to avoid activities that make them breathless. Sometimes, the doctor might prescribe a drug to reduce the amount of urine the baby passes in order to not add on to the existing fluids. If you have severe polyhydramnios, you may need some of the amniotic fluid to be drained off to reduce the risk of premature labour. This procedure can be risky, sometimes causing infection, bleeding and complications with the placenta. Best treatment in most cases is for expectant moms to take early maternity leave and rest as much as possible. Not to worry though, the majority of moms with polyhydramnios give birth to perfectly healthy babies.

I am in my third trimester pregnancy. I just feel my bump doesn't as big as other preggers but doctor said it is ok. But still, i'm litle afraid, is this normal?

It is fine as long as baby is gaining weight. It is actually not good to gain too much weight during pregnancy. My first baby I gained a whooping 20 over kg and my bump was very big but for my second baby, I only gained about 10kg and my bump was almost not there. He came out at 3.2kg! So if doctor says that it is okay, it definitely is. Not to worry.

I would first share the news with my closest family. Then make my first doctor's appointment Have a chat with my husband about financial planning.
