What's the hardest part about being a parent?

Accepting that sometimes you have to let your child learn through the hard way. Like learning to ride a bike, one sometimes has to be brave enough to fall first before grasping the concept of balancing. As much as you want to, you cannot always be there for them and they have to learn to be independent.

How can I be a good father?

By wanting to be a good father, you are already one. I believe there is no perfect formula to being a good parent. We all learn and make mistakes along the way. Moreover, every child is unique so what works on others may not works on you. As long as you try your best and always have the interest of your child at heart, you are a good father!

Does a newborn recognise a daddy as much as mummy? I hear babies get familiar with their mum's smell. Is this also thr case for fathers?

Yes. If the dad is always taking care the baby. Or if he is always talking to your baby.

My wife wants to go back to work a month after delivery.

My wife wants to go back to work a month after delivery. Should I encourage her to or tell her to take more time with our newborn? I travel a lot and don't want my daughter suffering at such a tender age without one of us around most of the time. Do advise!

You can tell your wife what your thinking and opinion .You also need understanding why your wife want go back to work .Maybe she feeling stress when take care baby ? I believe that discussion is very important when solve the problem .

When is a good age for a dad and new baby to take a trip alone together? I would like to use this as an exercise for them to bond. And for hubby to get into the groove of being proactive and independent. He needs to know how to look after baby when I am not around.

What can a dad do to make delivery better for his wife? Without telling her to breathe and push. I need more things on standby for me to offer my wife who's delivering our first child next month.
