My 5 month old waves her hands back and forth in front of her face and likes to sucks on her fist. Why?

Sounds like baby is having fun discovering the use of her hands and mouth. Her hands are like toys to her as she discovers that they are actually part of her. Sucking on her fists could be a comforting mechanism or simply, your baby's way of discovering different sensations (her tiny fingers have many sensitive nerve endings).

Need advice. My mum was in icu and now in normal ward. She has serious bout of the flu. Coughing, vomitting and high fever which has not broken for 1 day. I am a breastfeeding Mom of a newborn. Should I be visiting her? And if yes, how Long? I don't want to catch what she has and pass it to my baby.

I have ever asked my PD this before and his advice was Don't visit. Not worth the risk. Babies under 3 months are extremely vulnerable. If you must go, leave baby home. Make sure you shower when Yiu get home and sanitize your hands properly

Hello! How old will you all stop swaddling ur babies? Mine is 8 weeks and I don't swaddle her in the day.. I also tried to stop swaddling her at night for 3 nights, then last night i tried to swaddle her again, she sleeps better being swaddled up. I am asking cos I am worried abt development. I don't want to hinder any developments.

My boy is 7months old .. Think he is still having the tongue reflex cos he sticks out his tongue when I offer him food .. What should I do ? I thought by 7 months old shouldn't have such reflex? Continue to feed or don't feed for a while ?

You can continue feeding. It takes awhile for them to get used to eating solids. My baby took about 2 weeks to learn how to start eating. You can try to give some bite sized snacks occasionally to let him get used to it.

We follow complementary feeding for my son but i'm worried that he will copy his cousins (we share the house) they are very picky eaters (love soda) and eat too little food because of that. How to deal with this?

Hi, I can totally understand your worry. Feed your son in a different place as the cousins. As for me, I will totally avoid letting my son see what they are drinking(soda). Your son is still young, educate/explain/talk to him on the importance of eating a variety of food. It will be better if you could educate your son in the presence of the cousins and hope the cousins will improve on their eating habits.
