Hi Mummies, I am almost 10mpp and has been exclusively bfing Lo. My menses just return and notice there is a significant drop in supply. These days when I DL him, I notice that he has been fussing, seems like milk is getting lesser especially on the right side and has to be nursed almost hourly. (Each time he nursed less than 2-3min) During the night, he still wakes up 2-3hrly wanting to be nursed. (My boobs no long feel full in the night these days) When Lo is not with me, he drinks 180ml ebm 4hrly. My pump output drops especially on the right side with as little as 50-60ml 4hrly. No matter what booster I try, nothing works. I do hope to pass the 1 year mark. Does this drop in supply is temporary? What are the methods should I try to bring back my supply? I am just a just nice supply mum. I doing BLW for Lo hence I really do hope to provide enough BM for him.

Well, it depends on where you want your breastfeeding journey to go. If you don't have any plans of weaning, then by all means continue to breastfeed by demand. But if you wanted your baby to wean sometime soon, you might want to practice him/her giving the boob only at night. After all, for your baby's age, solid food is the primary food and not breastmilk.

I expressed into the storage bag. when I returned home, I pour into milk bottle but there's still some qty left in the bag. how not to waste those milk?

You can express into milk bottle, for storage bag, bound to have some left over. But I believe not much right ?

Is it good or bad that one of my breast is leaking ? I have latch lo at 5 am and it start to leak at 7.15 am? My lo is 5 months now~

I'm breastfeeding mummy and LO is 7month now. She is now refusing right breast as the milk supply is very slow. And she only wants left one. My right breast milk supply is less than 1oz while left breast is 4-5oz. Is it normal? Hope to breastfeed her till 1-1.5yo. Any idea to maintain the supply till then? And now she started solids and milk taking is lesser now. Wonder how successful breastfeeding mom can reach their goal to feed their kids till 1-1.5yo? Anyone can share their experience? Thanks!

You can consider latching on your left and pump your right after feeding. Add in power pumps for your right if possible. It will be good to pump and latch simultaneously so that you can catch the letdown. Continue doing this until the supply for your right is increased to match your left. It will be slightly lesser but definitely better. I used to have this problem too. Now baby is able to latch both sides without fussing.

Hi mommies, usually my morning pump can yield 140-150ml however throughout the day the average is only 50-60ml. Is there any way to maintain the yield at 150ml each pump? :( heading back to work soon and at this rate I may not have enough supply for my LO.

Morning pump session usually has a higher yield as our prolactin levels ride higher in the night. I am not sure how to increase pump yield to that of your morning pump sessions. To maximize pump yield, practice hands on pumping (you can Google for that) and hand express after you pump to better empty your breasts. I take it that you are an EP mom? If so, pump frequently 8x - 10x in 24h and include 2x - 3x power pump sessions to increase your supply.
