hungry or just want to suck

My lo is a 6weeks old, previously was bottle fed and now direct latch (i decided to try latching again). so I'm unable to gauge how much lo drinks but she usually latch for about 10-12mins total from both breast. sometimes she cries I'm not sure if she is hungry or just wants smth to suckle. bc i gave her pacifier and she went back to sleep but it has been 5h since her last feed. shld i feed or let her sleep

Let them sleep, if they are hungry they will wake up. Watch out for dehydration just in case

i used to pump and feed my lo ebm for a month. however, now she manage to latch on with assistance from my husband (he helps to hold the baby so i can place the areola in better). now I'm wondering if my lo can really latch on and no longer needs to drink from the bottle, would i still need to pump?

If you want to build a supply, you can pump.

Lo drinks from beginning breast for 10mins when i switch to other side she only sucks for 3-5mins then falls asleep or spit the nipple out. does it mean she is full? ideally how long should u let lo latch on for?

Hi... yes. It is normal. My baby will latched on and suck aggressive when she’s hungry. She will spit the nipple when she’s full.

Hi mummies I am currently direct bf my baby. It is nice feeling that you are always wanted by your baby. However, my other elder children seems to be neglected as more attention is given to baby. This is my first time fully breastfeed my baby. The other children was introduced to bottle at 6 months. Baby now is 10 mo. Would like to find out how long do you direct bf your baby? At what stage you wean off baby from latch on? How do you do it? Thanks! ?

Working mum here so no choice has to stop direct latch very early. For the older kids - have a pact with papa that he needs to extra sayang them while you are busy with new baby

should i breastfeeding for my baby after he on formula for 3months?

Hi mummies. When my baby is newborn i tried to pump out my breast milk for him to drink but after 30mins he vomitted all out.(as per nanny told me) I gave him tried 3 times but still the same. I dont know is he not suitable or what. I feel bad... i dont know is my prob or the food that i ate that makes him vomit. I know breastfeeding is very good for babies. Recently he fall sick. He just 2mths n he sick. Can see that he is not strong as breastfeeding baby. So I'm thinking to breastfeeding back him or just continue on formula as he alr drink for almost 3mths. Kindly advise. I dont know i still can pump out breastmilk anot?

If breastfeeding is going to be hard for you, have you tried to change the formula milk? Maybe can try that first.

Some Advice Please

Hello mummies. My lo is currently 8 days old. I'm currently direct latching feed on demand. Would like some advice what would you do when your boobs are very engorged and baby have yet to wake up to empty boobs? Do you pump a little and wait for her to wake up to empty your boobs Or Empty one side and wait for her to wake up and empty the other side? I would like to stock up some bm in the freezer for future usage and maintain supply in case she doesn't have enough to drink next time (6m onwards) Currently when engorged I pump out for baby to use as shower..

My girl was DL all the way till 15 months(till she starts to bite..😅).. I will express out the milk for both sides when LO was sleeping or napping, to prevent engorgement and also the more you clear, it will produce more and the boobs will get the signal that LO needs more milk. The longer you empty(clear), the milk produce will reduce as the boobs will take it as you don’t need so much milk in this period of time.

Plan to pump at works twice a day Colleague here mostly are single ladies, not sure their supportivity, cos i will be away from desk when pump. Nursing room back n return 20 mins walk Another one is baby changing room nearer 3mins walk from my office, but inside have no chair and table, only a foldable diaper changing table. Thinking just sit on the floor and pump if dun wan walk so far to nursing room I have a 3 years old s9+ pump I will be pumping a lot during my maternity, now thinking whether to invest in spectra s1, review say is gentle and effective, price is cheap for Korea set. Hesitate whether to buy a new pump or not. Maybe only useful for first 3 months. Any advice?

If you are bringing to work i thi m s1 will be rather bulky.. spectra now has a handsfree one if i'm not wrong
