Good yet affordable portable breast pump

Hi mummies, May I know what portable breast pumps are good for petite woman with smaller breast size? Thinking to get 1 for home only and 1 portable when outside. Currently C cup at 23 weeks and looking to do some light purchasing of some essentials soon Look forward to some advice (:

Honestly, for smaller bust sizes, flange fit matters more than the pump brand itself, a few mums I know had better output once they sized down to a 13mm or 15mm flange, so it's worth checking what sizes come included before you buy. The Pigeon Electric Breast Pump Portable gets brought up quite a bit as a decent mid-range option that doesn't break the bank, and my neighbour actually used it after her second baby and said it was comfortable enough for everyday use without feeling too bulky. That said, some mums love wearable in-bra pumps for on-the-go convenience, though a few flagged that getting the right cup size for a petite frame takes some trial and error. Since you're planning one for home and one portable anyway, it might make sense to invest a little more in a reliable single electric for home and keep the portable more budget-friendly, that way you're not overspending on two premium units at once.

Which month does your LO started to talk?

At which month does your LO started to talk? Mine is 17months, she babbles and say very few words. Should i be worried? She was asked to see a specialist but mommy is not sure whether to go or not. Hope to get replies from the other mommies

At 17 months, most LOs should have around 5-10 words at least, so if your girl is only saying very few words, it's actually good that the doctor already flagged it early because early intervention really makes a big difference! Please go see the specialist, it could be nothing serious at all, maybe just a speech delay that needs a little extra help, but it's always better to catch it early than to wait and wonder!

Hi mommies! Is it normal for 17 months toddler rejects almost everything? My daughter prefer eating smoothies, yogurt and porridge. she’s joining PG soon and im worried she doesn’t eat well.

My little one also went through this phase around that age, so you’re not alone mama 😊 Sometimes toddlers become very selective when they’re teething or wanting more independence. I just kept offering small portions without forcing and slowly he became more open to other foods. Since she’s still taking smoothies, yogurt and porridge, at least she’s eating something 💕

Formula for phlegm?

Hi all! My baby has recently been developing alot of phlegm even though she isnt sick, and was told that it could be due to her formula? She recently switched to Stage 3 Nan from Stage 2! Anyone able to recommend what formula is better and less sugar content (was told this was the main cause of phlegm)? Thank you! :)

Generally, stage 3 contains more sugar! You can switch back to stage 2 for lesser sugar. Or you can check with the PD if the phlegm is really caused by the phlegm. My LO drinks stage 3 NAN and got no issue with it.

Junior Champs or Little Footprints or Small Wonder Presch review? Ftm here!

Any review on this school?

VIP Member

Hi! FTM here too so I totally understand wanting as much info as possible before deciding. From what other parents share, all three have their strengths but here's a quick breakdown: Little Footprints tends to get really warm reviews. Parents consistently highlight how well-trained the teachers are and how responsive the school is, even updating parents on admin matters promptly. Many mummies say their kids settled in very quickly because of how nurturing the environment is. It's also a POP centre so fees are more subsidised. Small Wonder has lovely feedback too. Parents note that teachers remember all the kids by name even the new ones, and that the centre keeps families well informed on activities and their child's wellbeing. Junior Champs is smaller and more under the radar but parents who have enrolled there tend to be happy with the personalised attention their kids get given the smaller class sizes. Honestly at preschool age the teachers really make or break the experience. I'd recommend visiting all three and spending time observing how the teachers interact with the existing kids. Trust your gut when you walk in! Which area are you in? That might help narrow it down too.

Incessant pain at lower right back, is that normal at week 7?

Have not been to the gynae at all yet.

Not sure if you fall down or hit something that lead to back pain. Is it unbearable pain? Or already painful for days? If it is, consult a doctor.

Company cutting hours cause of maternity leave

My company is cutting my hours because I will be going on maternity leave. Can they do that according to MOM? Anybody knows? They did that last time when I took maternity leave and now they're doing it again. Is it OK to do that according to MOM?

If you’re working full time then your pay will be fixed even if they reduce your working hours.
