Drinking water during confinement

I heard that we can only drink red date tea during confinement and not to drink a single sip of water. Is it true? Whats the rationale ?

Warm water is fine, in fact drinking more water can help with milk supply. It’s said that drinking water can cause water retention but it’s not true. I drank almost 3-4L min per day because I’m bf and I didn’t have any water retention. I still take red dates tea during meals.

Inactive baby, is it normal?

I am 37 week 4day pregnant , do babies get less active around this period? I can barely feel his movement throughout the days , took out the Doppler and could detect heartbeat. Is it something I should be worried about ?

Never use a doppler without professional. Sometimes you may be detecting your own heartbeat instead of baby's. Baby don't get less active as you approach EDD. Please go to the hospital and get them to monitor fetal movement and heart beat. Better be safe than sorry mummy ❤️❤️

38 weeks + 4 days

Hi! First time mom here, there are still no signs of labour for me , I’m scared that I might continue on to 41 weeks and if asked to induce labour. Any advise. I still prefer natural birth

take walks and bouncing on gym balls might help!

Hi mummies! Does the quality of baby clothes matter? Some baby clothing can go up to $60 for two pieces and there are others that are more affordable. Does it really matter?

If baby doesn’t have sensitive skin or skin conditions, normal clothings is fine too. My LO has a lot of $1+ clothings that I got from live streams (mostly cotton) 😊. They outgrow too quickly so I won’t spend too much on their clothings/shoes now.

33w4d dizziness almost everyday

I have been feeling dizzy almost every day since week 32 and it usually happens in the afternoon around lunch time or after lunch. I feel lightheaded and heart racing many times but it's usually worse in the afternoon. Once I had blurry vision and cold sweat along with the dizziness while resting in bed, so I turn to my left side with my head slightly elevated and fell asleep. Few hours later it was ok but it's a scary experience. I have low hb on my last gynae appt (around 9.2) 2 weeks ago and have started taking iron since. Next week will be my follow up. Anyone have experienced the same? How do you deal with it?

Doc prescribed iron pills to me since 2nd trimester and I am still low in hb on my week 32 test, mine was 9.0. Doc asked me to start taking folate. There is one day I felt light headed and almost fainted, so please take care of yourself! Thereafter I start drinking homemade red date tea every alternate days and now I didnt feel dizzy. Not sure folate tablet or red date tea help on this.

Hi mummies, is it ok if i suddenly get up from a bed (at the gynae) in a sit up position accidentally 🥹🥹

Why is it not ok? thats how I get up everytime I wake up from bed. So far so good.

Hi Mummies, which brand of coconut water u all purchase for last trimester? Is coco thumb ok? Or which type should we buy?

I am just grabbing any thai coconut in ntuc or market. I guess any coconut will do :)

Mount E Novena Hospital 2024

Anyone recently delivered at men hosp? What are the things they provided or give? Like goodie bag? Thank you

Honestly, from what I've heard, the goodie bag from Mount E Novena is more of a small token rather than a big haul, think along the lines of a chocolate bar, some cookies, and a few tea bags packed in a little brown bag, so don't go in expecting something elaborate. Some mums appreciated the gesture as a nice touch, while others felt it was quite modest compared to what other private hospitals put together. It's really the overall care and facilities there that people tend to rave about more than the freebie side of things. So if the goodie bag is a deciding factor, worth weighing that against everything else the hospital offers, the nursing support and room comfort seem to be what most people remember more fondly anyway.

Giving birth at Thomson medical centre

Hi mummies who recently gave birth in TMC, may I ask are toiletries included in the 1 bedded room? Like tooth paste and tooth paste, cotton pad? Or I have to bring it myself ? Thanks!
