Hi Mummies, any advice please? My husband and I are the main caregiver for our LO who is currently around 3 month old. My mom will be taking care of LO as we will be away for around 10 days.. which we really appreciate her help. However I’m very worried about LO’s quality of sleep as my mom snores (super loud and will snore suddenly, they will be in the same room).. recently I went back to my mom’s place and I sleep in the same room with my mom, I didn’t have good quality sleep as I’m always awaken by the loud / sudden snores.. Anyone faces such issue as well that partner / caregiver snores super loud - how do you handle the situation and does it really affects LO’s sleep? I have not yet tell my mom about this as I doesn’t want to hurt her feelings, etc.. I’m intending to buy the sleep strips for her (but don’t know if it works?) or should I get infant earplugs (not sure if there is any)..

You’d be surprised at how well they can sleep thru it. My husband snores like some tractor dinosaur, it affected my sleep but not my LO’s. Initially will be startled but will still sleep thru.

Period after birth

Its been 4 months plus ever since my baby came out and I still havent get my period, because Im doing exclusive breasfeeding. I mean yes period sucks but Im worried that my period is not coming is my hormones ok ?

Yes it’s normal, especially when you’re still breastfeeding. Mine came around 8m PP, while my friend bf for 18m still no period yet.

Hi FTM here, anyone would u like to share how you nurse ur baby outside other then finding nursing room? I love to latch on with my baby but it quite a hassle to do it outside like finding a nursing room or nursing cover which my baby kinda having hard time sucking using nursing cover, any easier nursing tips? #nursing #breastfeeding #latch

hi mummy! i use nursing top and cover. my baby hates the cover also so it helps to wear a nursing top so you are not so exposed.

4 month old sick

If my 4 month old is coughing with phlegm but no fever, but he drinks only half of what he normally drink and cried and being irritable, should I go hospital?#pleasehelp

Hi mummies, FTM here. Is it normal regarding the following situation? LO currently 3MO, starting to be curious and grab hold onto things. Whenever anyone carries her, she would grab onto our shirt tightly and sometimes have a "shock" / "scared" expression , as though if she let go, she would fall. Or if she is on diaper changing table, she would grab tightly onto the side bar, or even on the rocker, she would hold tightly on to the side as well. Also, she doesn't know how to sleep on her own and will always cry when she is tired, we have to pat her/use baby carrier, and have to carry & walk, if not she would cry (esp if we remain stationary/if we sit down/put her down onto bed and pat her). Sometimes when she finally fall asleep and we put her down onto her bed very gently, she would open her eyes suddenly (again, in shock) and cry and we have to pat her again to sleep. It takes several attempts to make her sleep.. Or at times when we carry her in our arms and she is finally falling asleep, her arms would suddenly jerk and eyes wide open (in shock) and close back and fall asleep and then after 2 to 3 mins, it will happen again - she would suddenly jerk and wake up.. Just a note that we didn't drop LO before.. I read about Moro reflex but doesn't seems like it leh... a bit worrying and wonder when will this (LO always in shock) go away..

I’m a FTM and no pro but all you mentioned sounds normal to me, as I have observed my baby doing it when she’s that age. And yes, it’s a phase and it shall pass

Living room Lights

Do you switch off the lights in the room to avoid baby from staring at it when lying down?

Not at all. I just switch the lights thats away from her view to avoid glaring.

MIL smelling baby consistently and causing strained r/s with hubby

My MIL is the caregiver for my first born and I keep noticing her smelling my baby every few seconds. Mind you, every few seconds. I previously told her not to kiss my baby but even though she didn't kiss her mouth is still touching my baby side of the head when she smell. I feel its quite disgusting to have someone to keep smelling you every few seconds and tried to tell my hubby about it. However he told me that he is having a strained relationship with his mother as he had told her not to do a few things, like to feed her only when she is hungry or every 3hours and not everytime when she cry to prevent overfeeding. So he say this is a minor issue if I can't tahan I should tell her myself. In a way I understand but I can't help feeling alone and without support. Any advice on how I should tackle this issue?

Working Mum: Juggling work & Drop in Supply

Anyone experienced drop in supply after starting work in the office? How often do you pump & how do you also manage your time at work to pump? I’ve heard stories where for some, their supply dropped due to baby being away for a distance or they pump lesser leading to drop in supply. I exclusively pump and my maternity will soon be over. Trying to mentally prepare myself what’s to come & in hopes to prevent low supply #firsttimemom

Sunflower lecithin vs soya lecithin

To mummies who are breastfeeding, do you take sunflower or soya lecithin? Is there a difference? My lactation nurse recommended me to take soya lecithin as my milk supply is low and quite transparent. But I heard sunflower lecithin is safer.

When and how to introduce water to LO

Hi mummies, my LO is turning 5mo and am thinking can I start to introduce sips of water as she's been coughing for more than 2wk already and there is no medicine for baby less than 6mo. I have a straw spout from hegen and all rounder crown, wondering which one I should use to introduce LO to water? I saw online many people recommended Richell straw cup but since I have hegen accessories I hope not to spend extra money.
