Recovery advice for Episiotomy

Hi mummies, ftm here! Any kind mummies can share recovery tips or things not to do/ be careful for episiotomy? Just had an early delivery by episiotomy, wasn’t expecting to do a natural vaginal delivery initially so I’m quite clueless. Greatly appreciate any advice!

the first two weeks are gonna be super uncomfortable. take the painkiller prescribed by your doctor. change your pad/maternity diaper frequently! keep the wound area dry and clean. use epi kool to ice it for the first few days. perineal spray helps too, you should also buy the portable bidet spray to clean every time you pee/poo!

Induction this June

Can my husband accompany me when Im being induced? Isit throughout the whole induction or visiting hours only? TIA! 😀

yes only in labor room will be with u till baby is out

Hii, just wanted to see if any mummies have went through induce labour. If so, how was the experience like?

was induced by inserting the pill. Took awhile to dilate fully. it took me like more than 7 hours. The pain was horrific! Almost took the epidural but baby saves the day. gave birth about 10 minutes.

Setting boundaries for hospital visitors

Hi, ftm here. I’m due end june and most likely going to be doing a c-sec. Everyone has been super excited for the baby to come and talking about visiting at the hosp. Am i the asshole for not wanting any visitors, especially on the 1st day of birth because I want to be able to rest properly? Not sure how to bring it up to my in laws and parents that I don’t want them to visit at the hosp on the day baby arrives without offending them. They’ve all been talking about it like it’s a given thing. I get that they’re excited but I’m really worried I’ll be super overwhelmed if they’re all around fussing right after the surgery and I won’t be able to rest properly if there are visitors around even if it’s my own parents. My in laws and parents are both very traditional so it’s like a natural given to them that they will be at the hospital immediately after I give birth, but I’m really dreading it and I’m not sure what to do.

make it known so that prospective visitors are aware. with section, the nurses will be coming in and out every hour to check BP, check drips, check wound, bring baby in, food, meds.. gyne coming to check.. already you won't be able to sleep well, you really don't need to entertain if you do not wish to. you have all the rights! let them know of alternatives, such as video call or visit after you feel comfortable. you be you mama!

Dear mummies, I’m feeling devastated with BF. I’m in PP day 8 and my BM just doesn’t flow well. My baby refused to latch as she can’t get milk. I tried pumping and the volume is just so little. Not sure what to do.

If you really want to boost your supply you can try supplements as well

Hello! I just delivered at week 39 exact. The delivery is a long labour for me, however not everyone will experience the same. Every pregnancy is different. Some mommies have shorter labour hours.

Im 38 wks today been having tightening or contraction i shall say since 640pm but nt intense.

Shld i head to hospital now?

Use the app “Contraction Timer” (mint green app) to time your contraction. If it’s every 5 minutes or less, then you should head to hospital. If it’s irregular then no.

Backache at week 40

Hi mummies, I'm at my week 40+2 now and having backaches while walking, showering and even sitting down. Wonder is it a sign of labour? I have no commonly known labour symptoms yet. #FTM

Hello mommy, it doesn’t seem so because it might be from the weight of your bump since you are at week 40 now. However, please continue to monitor and check for other symptoms.

I went labour rm 38w2d with little contractions, doc says i was only 2cm. Request to go hm.

Been 2 days at hm and no signs anymore. Is it normal?

its normal. sometimes waiting time 1 week. as long waterbag is good

Spitting out milk

Hii mummies, im currently mix feeding my newborn after feeding she will spit out abit of milk. Just wanted to see if this is normal? 😣

Yes it’s normal. My newborn will spit out a bit of milk even after burping him.
