Bad headache week 10

Constant headaches

Headaches at 10 weeks can be pretty rough, and honestly it could be anything from hormones to dehydration to tension, especially if you're stressed or not sleeping well. Might be good to bring it up with your gynae or PD at your next visit just to rule out anything, and in the meantime try drinking more water and getting proper rest if you can. Hope it eases up soon for you.

Hello all, anybody has recommendations for body soaps or shampoo with the least scent? I’m week 9 pregnant and all kinds of scent has been too much for my nose to handle :(

i feel you i couldn't stand all kind of smells. i couldn't find a replacement shampoo. but for body soap dr bronner unscented worked for me

Feeling Lethargic

This is my 3rd pregnancy and it is different from the rest. I felt more lethargic and I just want to sleep. Feeling nausea and no appetite to eat at all. I dont feel like talking too. Do anyone else the same?

Pregnancy fatigue is real, especially by the third time around when your body's already been through it, so you're not alone in feeling this way. The nausea and loss of appetite can make it even harder to keep your energy up, which becomes a bit of a cycle. That said, since this pregnancy feels quite different from your previous two, it might be good to bring it up with your PD or gynae just to rule out things like low iron or thyroid issues, which can make the tiredness feel heavier than normal pregnancy exhaustion. In the meantime, try to eat small frequent meals even if you're not hungry, and don't push yourself if your body's telling you to rest. Hang in there, it usually gets a bit better after the first trimester.

Is credit card payment accepted at mount alvernia for delivery charges? Asking for both mummy and baby bills

I'd call Mount Alvernia's billing department directly to confirm, lah, they're usually quite helpful with these things. When I had my boy there, I remember the admin staff were responsive to questions about payment options, so it's worth asking them straight up whether they take credit card for delivery charges on both bills.

Interracial Baby Name

Hello! Any parents out there with baby born muslim but in terms of name registration, still wants to include chinese name as the mummy is chinese? May i know how do you add the chinese name? Heard some stories before where people indicate xxx xxx binte xxx xxx @chinese name. Just want to see if there are any variation to this, thanks!

I know a few families who've done this lah, and honestly the format varies depending on whether you register at the mosque or KKH first. My friend's daughter is registered with her Muslim name officially, then they added the Chinese name on the birth cert as a second name when they registered with ICA, so it reads like "Nur Ain Lee Chen Wei" on the documents. Some families do the @ symbol thing you mentioned, but from what I've seen, the cleaner way is just to include it as a proper middle or second name so it flows better and causes fewer headaches with school forms later on. Best to check directly with the registration office (whether mosque, KKH, or ICA) about what they'll accept, because the officers can sometimes advise on what works smoothest for your situation.

No morning sickness no nausea at all

Hello mummies. Im now at week6 1day and Im extremely worried as i have no symptoms at all other than missed period, firm breast come and go and lower back pain. Other than that i work well, sleep well and eat well. Is it normal. Its my first time… i don’t seem to gain weight too but bloated. Woah this overthinking is killing me ☹️

I’m also not having any N&V, I’m at week 5 now but had 2 days of weird coloured spotting. Had a chemical pregnancy back in March so I’m feeling paranoid about my spotting now 😣

Honestly, I think the key is to be realistic about timing rather than trying to cram everything in. My friend who did her professional cert while working full-time basically gave herself a longer timeline (maybe 6-8 months instead of 3-4) so she could study in smaller chunks during her lunch breaks and weekends without burning out completely. Breaking the syllabus into bite-sized topics like you mentioned really helps, and she swore by doing practice questions first to see what she actually needed to focus on instead of re-reading everything from scratch. The trade-off is it takes longer, but you're less likely to sacrifice your sanity or time with the kids that way.

Where to start ob-gyn experience?

Im 6 week pregnant. Its gonna be my second baby. But for singapore its gonna be first. So i dont know what to do first? Should i go have blood test first in polyclinic? Could you please share your experiences? #adviceappreciated #pregnancy

Congratulations on your second baby! At 6 weeks, you're at a good spot to get started. Most of us go straight to an OB-GYN for the first appointment rather than the polyclinic first, they'll do an ultrasound to confirm everything is progressing well, which is really the priority at this stage. That said, a few of my mum friends went via polyclinic for a referral to KKH, and they found it helped with the subsidy later on, so that's worth considering if cost is a factor for you. If you go private, expect around $120, 150 for that first visit, but if you want to tap on subsidies through a government hospital like KKH, starting with your polyclinic doctor for a referral can work out more affordable in the long run. Either way, just call up the clinic or hospital and book, they're usually pretty efficient about getting you in within a week or two. Definitely worth checking with your own OB-GYN about the best pathway for your situation, especially since you've had a pregnancy before and might have specific things they want to monitor!

First time mummy here, aldy went for first scan at kkh via poly referral. ive heard alot of scary birth stories at KKH and was wondering if SGH is better? And how to go about transferring? Any advice on which path i should go?

Both are solid choices lah, honestly it just depends on what matters more to you. KKH is the specialist women and children's hospital so they see everything, which some mums find reassuring, while SGH is a general hospital with good OB care but maybe slightly less volume. The "scary stories" thing is tricky because labour is unpredictable no matter where you go, and you tend to hear the dramatic ones more than the straightforward births. If you want to transfer, you'd need to ask your poly doctor for a referral to SGH instead, but I'd suggest going back to KKH for your next appointment and asking the docs there directly what they think is best for your situation before you decide, since they already have your medical history. My friend stayed with KKH throughout and had a good experience, so don't stress too much about the choice itself.
