Fell sick possibly Covid

I have a sore throat and fever and I know I was visited by someone who has just recovered from Covid. Right now testing negative for Covid and influenza but I’m only 7 weeks and worried. I was only given Panadol to take Anyone else fell sick with Covid during early pregnancy and it all turned out fine?

From what I've generally heard, some mums did test negative initially but turned positive a few days later, so it's worth retesting after a day or two if your symptoms persist. Panadol is usually what doctors recommend first in early pregnancy, so that part sounds right, and many mums have gone through mild Covid or Covid-like illness in the first trimester and had perfectly healthy pregnancies. A friend of mine went through something very similar, sore throat, fever, tested negative twice before getting a positive, and her baby arrived absolutely fine. Do keep a close eye on your fever and stay well hydrated, but please also loop back with your OB or GP if symptoms worsen or don't improve, just so you have proper peace of mind for your specific situation.

Anxiously waiting

I first noticed brown spotting on 6 June, which was unusual because it has never happened in any of my previous cycles. In the days that followed, I began experiencing nausea, dizziness, exhaustion, and constant hunger. At first, I didn’t think much of it and assumed my period was simply coming earlier than expected cause my cycles are kinda wonky at times. However, my period never arrived that week. As the days went by, the intensity of my symptoms continued to increase. At the same time, several people started asking whether I was expecting because they felt I looked different. That made me suspicious, so I started taking pregnancy tests. I tested three times, and all were negative. I decided to wait until my expected period date, which is tomorrow, 18 June, before testing again. Last night, after using the toilet, I noticed light pink blood dripping down, which was different from my usual bright red menstrual blood. I decided to put on a pad before going to bed and monitor the situation. This morning, I woke up to a completely clean pad with no spotting or bleeding, yet I feel more nauseated than ever. Part of me is tempted to take another test today, but I think I should wait until tomorrow. The waiting is incredibly frustrating. I do feel and look very pregnant though so I’m hoping it’s not false alarm. But you know overthinking sucks.

The waiting really is the hardest part 🥺 If your expected period is tomorrow, I'd wait until then (or 1-2 days after if it still doesn't come) and use your first morning urine, since that's when pregnancy tests are most accurate. Brown or light pink spotting can happen in early pregnancy, but it can also happen before a period starts, so unfortunately it's not enough on its own to tell the difference. The nausea and other symptoms can happen in both early pregnancy and PMS too because of hormonal changes. If your test is still negative after you've missed your period but your symptoms continue, it's a good idea to see your doctor. They may recommend a blood test or check for other possible causes. And if you develop heavy bleeding, severe one-sided pain, or feel faint, don't wait, get medical attention promptly.

Spotting during pregnancy

I’m 5 weeks pregnant currently doc prescribed me medication and folic acid. But I’m still spotting on day 2 of medication. Smear of light pink blood. Doc say my next check up to see baby is 2 weeks later. #askmommies I’m just lil worried is spotting ok?

For spotting or bleeding, you may ask doctor for progesterone medication to support the pregnancy. I'm taking Dydrogesterone and Baby Aspirin since my 3DPO.
