Quetiapine in Pregnancy

Hi there.. any mummies or mummies to be taking Quetiapine for mood and severe insomnia in pregnancy? Does it affect pregnancy? #askmommies

Quetiapine is one of the medications that may be continued during pregnancy when a doctor feels the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Many women do take it during pregnancy, but whether it's right for you depends on your specific situation and medical history. If quetiapine was prescribed by your psychiatrist or doctor, it's important not to stop it on your own without discussing it with them first. They can advise whether any adjustments are needed during pregnancy. Hopefully some mums can share their experiences too, but for medication questions in pregnancy, your psychiatrist and obstetrician are really the best people to guide you ❤️

Where to go after positive test kit

Hihi do I go to polyclinic for referral once I have positive test kit? Which hospital should I get referred to? Thanks! #firstTime_momhere

if you want subsidies, can go polyclinic and get referral. if you want private, can go any private gp. hosp is your choice to decide. usually is kkh, nuh or sgh.

Hi mummies , whens the best time to start making visit to gynae ? I am 6weeks and i have yet book any apt to gynae /obs . Whens the best time ? Is 9 weeks too long?

Between weeks 8-10 is okay as long as you aren’t high risk. Personally visited around week 6-7.

Which hospital?

Ive gave birth to my first child at sgh and it was great, but i am now considering if i should go KKH or SGH for my second child? Is kkh okays?

Everyone’s experience is different but I won’t advice going to KKH unless you are going to go private from the start. My sister and I had very bad experience going there alone for appointments as subsidised patients. I heard from my sister that SGH and NUH are good (she gave birth in both hospitals). I hope this helps.

Weight loss and gynae recommendation

Hi all mamas to be! Am around 5 weeks pregnant but have been losing weight pretty consistently (have lost about 2kg+ in the past two weeks) even though I don’t have any nausea or food aversions (have been eating normally if not more) - is this normal? Also does anyone have any thoughts on Dr Lee Jiah Min from The O&G Specialist Clinic?

On the weight loss, even without nausea, early pregnancy can affect your body in unexpected ways, so it's best to flag this to your gynae ASAP since 2kg in two weeks is worth checking out! As for Dr Lee Jiah Min, she's super experienced: a Senior Consultant with over 22 years in O&G, and has done more than 8,000 laparoscopic surgeries! She was also previously a Senior Consultant at KKH's Minimally Invasive Surgery department, so she's really the real deal! You'd be in great hands, mama

Heart rate during pregnancy

Hi mommies can share what is your usual resting and walking heart rate range pls? Just for assurance cos mine has increased eversince I got pregnant. I’m only 4-5 weeks.

Hi mummy, mine increased too very early in pregnancy (around 5–6 weeks). My resting heart rate went up and even walking made me feel more out of breath than usual 😅 My OB told me it can be normal because your body is working harder and blood volume starts increasing. But if you have chest pain, dizziness, fainting, or feel very uncomfortable, better to check with your doctor for peace of mind ❤️
