Is post natal massage necessary after delivery?

Hoping to get advice. If it is necessary, I am looking into getting post natal massage but as I’m currently unemployed, am wondering if anyone can recommend on a more affordable scale? Thank you!

Baby in breech position

Hi mummies I'm in week 33 and baby is in breech position. Besides some exercises given by my gynae, how to encourage baby to turn to the right position for natural delivery? I'm feeling quite concerned.

Aiyoh don't worry too much lah, still got time at 33 weeks! My friend went to a chiropractor who specialises in the Webster Technique for pregnant mummies, and she said her baby turned within a couple of weeks, though she also combined it with pelvic tilts every day, so hard to say which one really did the trick. My neighbour also tried acupuncture, she said it felt strange at first but she was quite happy with the outcome, though honestly some mummies in our group didn't feel it made a difference for them, so results really vary lah. On the whole, the pelvic tilts seem like the lowest-risk thing to try consistently since it's quite gentle, while the chiropractic and acupuncture routes have more mixed feedback, worth weighing which suits you better. Of course, do check everything with your gynae first before trying, especially the inversions, just to make sure it's safe for your specific situation!

Essential oil or Roll ons

Hello mummies. Can i know what essential oils or roll ons we can use for first trimester? My morning sickness has kicked in and it get worsen every night that i had to take anti vomitting meds for it 🤢 I try not to depend on the meds la so was thinking if theres any oils or balms that can be used to ease the morning sickness. TIA! ♡

How to choose gynae?

Hi! FTM here. Currently just 5 weeks pregnant. Anyone has any advice on how to choose gynae, or any recommendation out there?

I went to polyclinic first to get a referral letter for hospital gynae. the doctor will let you choose which hospital you want and will advice you accordingly also

I’ve been using those brands, but I’m not sure if they’re working for me. I see more stretch marks, but I’m not sure if they’re old or new. Are there any good brands that would help for a first-time pregnancy

Stretch scram

Stretch marks are usually genetic too, so if your family members has it, you’ll probably have some too. My mum has bad stretch marks so regardless of how diligently I applied, I still had stretch marks appearing at 38 weeks. You can try bio-oil to see if it helps slow down. Remember not to scratch them too!

Can eat kanemochi during 24week pregnancy?

Yes can, but eat it moderately due to the sugar as you will be taking your OGTT in a few weeks time.

Baby cordblood- bank, donate or delayed cord clamping

Hi mummies, trying to decide between donating, private banking or doing delayed cord clamping for my baby. This is probably the hardest pregnancy decisiob so far. Can I hear your thoughts on this please?

Honestly, it's not fully either-or, someone in my mum group mentioned that delayed clamping and cord blood collection can actually be done together if you wait just a couple of minutes first, so you don't have to sacrifice one for the other entirely. The trade-off is that delayed clamping does let more blood (and clotting factors) transfer back to baby, which some mums felt was worth prioritising over maximising the volume collected for banking. Private banking gives you that "insurance" feeling but it's expensive and the chances of actually needing it are quite low, whereas donation means someone else may benefit even if your own child never does, both are valid depending on how you weigh peace of mind against practical odds. My lean would be to discuss the timing window with your doctor first, since some hospitals here are more flexible about combining both, and then decide if private banking is worth the ongoing storage fees for your family's situation.

Someone in my mum group did mention that KKH overall can feel a bit hit-or-miss depending on which doctor you land with, so it really does matter to get a specific recommendation rather than just trusting the hospital name alone. If you can, try to get a consultation with her first before committing, and come prepared with your questions so you can gauge how she communicates with you, that tends to tell you a lot quite quickly.
