Hi, I am first time mum and noticed my baby has white cottage cheese like spots on his tongue.

I searched online and looks like its nipple thrush, could anyone please advise if they have come across this and how to treat them? is it safe for baby to drink breastmilk before we treat it?

Its oral/milk thrush! Can try use oral cleaner to clean baby’s tongue everyday. Dont think it affects baby’s drinking. My baby have it and still drinking well. Mine is on FM

fever and cough comes and go

my baby fever comes and go. her cough as well. went to see doctor and eat medicine but still the same. any home/natural remedy to keep these in control

Baby needs swaddle but fights it all the time.

I am so stressed when putting baby to sleep at night. Baby can't stay asleep without his arms being swaddled. But these days he has found his hands and would want to suck his hands whenever he wants to sleep. So everytime I force his arms into the swaddle but he keeps screaming. Even if I managed to swaddle him, he would fight it and manage to pull his hands out to suck. I could try to swaddle him up to an hour! Today after 1 hour I gave up and let his arms out and he can't sleep! I have to use his pacifier (what's the point of sucking his hands?!) and he falls asleep but wakes up after a short while. 😑 I am so stressed. I can't do this everyday.

What activities did you do with your 3 to 4 month old when they are not feeding or sleeping? (FOC)

My LO is 3 months old now! Other than eat and sleep, he has his wake periods, which is around 30 to 90 minutes depending on the time of the day. During this wake period, what do you mummies do with your LO to occupy the time after feeding or before feeding? For now, after waking up, if LO is not hungry yet, I do about 10 minutes of tummy time with him (or more until he is frustrated or hungry). After feeding, I sit him upright (or carry him upright) for about 15 minutes, and then I dont know what to do already. For now, I put him on a lying chair and talk/chat to him until he is sleepy. If he isn't interested in me talking anymore, I use those shaker toys to entertain him for a few more minutes. I have some toys given to me but they aren't suitable for him yet (Stackers, teethers etc). Then when I absolutely have nothing to chat about or play with baby, then I put him to sleep. But then other than that what do you mummies do with your LO? #firsttimemom #firstmom

Can do house tour 🤣 I did that a lot. Can take a walk at the corridor or void deck for fresh air. Can play nursery rhymes and sing/dance along. Can show family photos to baby.

Best diaper for runny poop overnight

Hey mummies, my 3month old LO is starting to sleep through the night and he poops a lot as soon as he wakes. Any recommendations for diapers which absorbs very quickly for runny poop and also can store a lot of pee at the same time? I tried drypers and even for fresh diaper, b4 it can absorb the poop already flow out from back. Goonz absorbs really fast but not enough to last with through the night pee + poop. Tried rascal and friends but consistently leak from the thigh area even when its fresh diaper. Currently I am using merries, and it's the best, but baby diaper seems to be like it's exploding after just 6 hours of use + poop. Baby is sleeping longer and longer, so I'm wondering if there are other options? Thanks!

I’m using Merries premium. So far no problem with sleeping overnight, but my baby doesn’t poop in her sleep.

How do you decide what time will be your baby's last feed?

My baby is 3 months old and starting to sleep longer periods at night and will wake up once for a feed before going back to sleep. However due to unpredictability of baby feeding, sometimes baby last feeding can be at 11pm or at 1am as he feeds 3-4 hourly. 1am because I feel that 10pm feeding may not last through the night. He will then proceed to sleep 5-8 hours (depending on how tired he is) so sometimes I just have to wake up at 4-5am for a feed and will drift back to sleep until 8-10am next day. My aim is for baby to sleep at 12am, and wake up at 5/6, which coincides with my sleep cycle, but obviously baby doesn't follow schedule, so I can only try my best to keep to the routine and schedule. Sometimes baby cries for a feed at 1030 and then would be at an awkward time lol. If it were you, would you decide to put baby to sleep after this feeding or wait for next feeding? How do you mummies decide what time would be baby's last feed?

At 3 months old, my baby slept thru the night. He usually sleep 5/6/7pm to the next morning 6am. His last feed could be as early as 5pm and next feed is 6/7am. I dont decide, i follow baby’s cue. When he’s sleepy, i would let him sleep.

So tired but husband unable to take care of baby

I am first time mum btw, husband works in the day so I take care of baby in the day and at night we share the responsibilities. However hubby can't make the baby sleep, can't feed the baby, the only thing he can do is change baby diaper and so everything else I have to do myself. For your info, husband can't make baby sleep because his "tactic" is to stuff pacifier into baby screaming mouth and that's it. I tell him to carry baby and rock him, but he just do like a robot and baby screaming like no tmr and I have to take him back. Thought to let him practice more but after a few days he show me his arms saying baby gave him rashes so he gonna try other method. He tries putting baby in those movable cot and push it and seems like a bit working, though takes very long, but after a few days he say his arms and leg breaking with this way. In the end always end up i put baby to sleep. Feeding milk also the same. Baby always screams when he feeds. He very robot, don't know how to soothe baby, just take out bottle when baby arch his back and stuff it back in his mouth when he screams. Then tell me baby don't want to drink. I thought of just asking him to change bb diaper only and wash bottles, but then he will be deprived of learning and bonding with baby. What to do? Haiz...

my husband was like that with newborn too! it gets better after 2-3months.

IFC teachers quarrelling

so end of year, the old teachers resign, principal resign, then also changing classes and shifts for the ifc teachers. today afternoon shift was all the "new" teachers and they cannot handle my girl who has been there since she was 2 months old. now 5 months already. today I pick her up, she crying, I just hold her and she stopped. but when I peeked in the window, they stuffed a blanket to her face and put her in the rocker to force her to sleep, when she crying so loudly. then they informed me that even though they just fed her 1 hour ago, they thought she hungry so fed her again, but she never stop crying, then they put the oil for the stomach cause thought she stomach pain but also didn't stop crying . .. last time the teacher will put pacifier but I guess they never pass the information, last time also teachers will carry awhile... but ok new teacher I just smile and say its ok, first day , they got to learn. then while I teaching my.husband how to use the carrier with the baby outside the center, we heard the 3 teachers with one kid still inside waiting for the parent, they quarreling very loudly. With one teacher scolding the other two the. they shouting.. I mean obviously , I feel the last kid sure traumatised... I feel I should say something but also not sure about it and to whom as well.. usually bb gurl come home will sleep immediately, but today, sleep alrdy then will cry very loudly when lights off and need to console , carry here and there half an hour and leave lights on, till she falls asleep.. I feel maybe she also traumatised by the new teachers way of handling her. Do you guys think I should say something to the morning teachers? or confront the afternoon teachers or wait a few days and see the situation? I don't know who more traumatised, my baby or my husband who usually don't pick her up, but clearing leave this end of year, so he is surprised to see her like this in the evening. And feels that the teachers traumatised her...
