Morning Sickness Fears

In my 1st trimester and not able to eat much because of morning sickness. Will this affect my baby's nutrition? #advicepls #pregnancy

Hi Nalika, I hope you are feeling ok today. As long as you are able to keep enough fluid and food down, morning sickness is unlikely to affect baby's nutrition. Some women however, have really bad morning sickness that they get really dehydrated. In this case, admission to hospital/health facility is warranted so treatment can be given. You can ask your doctor for medication to help with the morning sickness.

Is it to safe to have sex during 2nd trimester?

Generally it is safe to have sex in all trimester in pregnancy. However, if you have a condition like low lying placenta (where the placenta implants at the lower part of the womb), it is safer to avoid sex.

I am sorry to hear that you have jaundice. I advice you to highlight this to your obstetrician (if you havent). He/she will send you for an ultrasound scan of the abdomen.

Is it safe to workout during first trimester?

I climb stairs, planks, squats, push-ups etc

We generally want to be safe during the 1st trimester. However it also depends on what you have been doing prior to your pregnancy. I would say doing 50% less (in term of frequency, intensity, duration) than what you have been doing shouldn't be a problem provided that your pregnancy is not high risk and you are not experiencing any of the below symptoms: spotting, cramp, short of breath, high blood pressure and any discomfort that you are not sure of the reason. Below are some example of exercise modification: - If you used to climb 5 flight of stairs as an ex, you can try out only 2 flight of stairs, and do it slower than how you used to do. - Reduce the duration you hold in plank by half. - Do body weight squat instead of weighted squat. - Do wall push-ups instead of regular push-ups.

Hi Rits, You can support your partner by providing emotional support and physical support. For emotional support, you can ask her what she needs from you, always encourage and reassure her. Show your affection to her like holding hands and giving hugs. Let her know that she is not going through the pregnancy alone. For physical support, you can help her make changes to her lifestyle as a mother-to-be such as encouraging her to eat healthy foods. Encourage your partner to take breaks and naps are also essential as hormones during pregnancy can change a woman's energy level and the need for sleep. Hi madam, Nose bleeds during pregnancy are a fairly common problem. They are usually due to increased blood flow through the flesh inside your nose. The increased blood flow is due to the great hormonal changes that are occurring in your body over the course of your pregnancy. As for your headaches, it may possibly be due to increased blood flow to the head. However, there may be other reasons for this like increased blood pressure, which may happen during pregnancy as well. I would encourage you to get your blood pressure checked at a nearby clinic.
