Is Pilates or Yoga better for pregnancy?

Hi all, Wondering if Pilates is indeed useful as I find it expensive. Does anyone have experience with either and have seen results in your birth / stamina? Thanks!

Both have their merits honestly, Pilates tends to focus more on core stability and controlled strength, which many mums say helped them push more effectively during labour and recover faster postpartum, while yoga seems to shine more for stress relief, breathing, and loosening tight hips and shoulders that build up as your bump grows. One thing worth knowing is that if you're naturally quite flexible or hypermobile, yoga can actually work against you during pregnancy since it encourages more stretching, whereas Pilates builds the stability you actually need. My friend went to a prenatal Pilates class throughout her second trimester and said the pelvic floor and breathing work made a real difference during her delivery, she felt like she knew how to work with her body instead of against it. That said, Pilates is pricier, so if budget is a concern, a good prenatal yoga class is still genuinely useful, especially for the relaxation and breathing techniques that carry you through contractions. Personally I'd lean towards Pilates if you can stretch the budget, but either beats doing nothing, the key is finding something with a properly trained prenatal instructor.
