OSCAR or NIPT

My wife is currently 8 weeks pregnant and we were in a dilemma when asked to choose to do either OSCAR (~$350) or Panorama (NIPT) (~$1,100 - 1, 550). Prices are private rate from Thomson Women's Clinic. Dr did suggest to do the NIPT and the neck measurement for a more comprehensive test. Any advise will be helpful. TIA. Edit: Thanks everyone for your advice. Will update soon again. #1stimepregnancy #firstbaby #advicepls

I did both because these are two different test and analysis. I was surprised that Oscar scans (1st time at 12wks & 2nd time at 20wks) really in detail. I have no regret to take up Oscar.

Singapore Women’s Medical Group at Novena Medical Centre. Sorry for the late reply.

I did OSCAR and result came back high chance, then i ended up doing amniocentesis which was invasive testing that showed baby was fine, go for NIPT...OSCAR accuracy and worry is not worth it

Hi, I did it at NUH

I did both @ KKH (instead of Panorama, I did Harmony Test which cost $750). You can consider doing the test at any governmental hospital; I think it all cost the same $750.

My hubs and I decided to go for OSCAR as we were both young and our families have no history of genetic disorders. Results came out low risk.

Oscar accuracy is very low hence, go for NIPT (99.9% accuracy) straight. And you can know the baby's gender the same time you get the NIPT results.

Did both too... results for oscar came back good but decided to go for nipt at 21st week just to get a peace of mind ...

Hi i did at kkh... its the fts scan (first trimester scan)

NIPT for me. Don’t want to waste money on Oscar and end up with false positive then get a fright and then go NIPT again.

just do it once for accurate result otherwise , borderline not sure the pain to wait for accurate result is not worthy

i chose to go for NIPT cause im currently 31 and hope to get to know a more accurate results through blood tests.

Depends if you fall under high risk or not. If not under high risk I suggest that OSCAR will do.
