What’s the difference? Should I try goats milk when my baby starts solids? Or after? When’s the best time. Also my first kid I have cows milk after 1 YO. My second one is 6 months, what’s the recommended next milk?
Under 1 years old your baby should still be on either breast milk or infant formula (any one that is age-appropriate - goat or cow) as this is still their main source of nutrients on top of complementary foods. Comparing goats milk formula and cows milk formula, they are both great sources of nutrients for growing kids. In general, goats milk is slightly higher in calories, protein, fat and lower in carbohydrates. It is also slightly higher in potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. They have different protein structures and smaller fat globules which are easier to digest. They also tend to have more natural oligosaccharides which act as prebiotic to promote gut health. There will be some differences between brands. Pick the one that suits your needs. You can try samples from different brands before deciding whether to switch. Most importantly, choose a formula your child enjoys.
