I am a third time mother now and I learned some mistakes from my 2nd pregnancy. 1. I will spend more time with my elder kids instead of solely focusing on newborn. Previously I focused too much on my new 2nd baby and end up my elder one jealous. I was too confident that she will not get jealous at all. It ended up she experienced a huge emotional and behavioral changes, e.g. skip naps, hit her brother. 2. With more kids in the house, I tend to become hot temper as I feel very stressful. This time round I have pasted some of the reminder in the house for me to remind myself not to scold my kids but to talk to them nicely without losing my temper. 3. I will try to involve my kids to help in the new baby. Previously I worry too much about baby will have injuries. Now that my kids are older, I should trust them can handle newborn well with close monitoring.
My experiences of raising my first child have helped me tremendously in raising my second child. I am less paranoid, have more knowledge. One thing I have always taken care of is not neglect my first child..else everything remains same!
Yes absolutely!!! First and foremost I will listen to my gut and not to others. Secondly,i will not worry about the delivery or post delivery recovery. Thirdly, and most importantly, relax....
Say no to over reacting and being paranoid. I was definitely more confident and relaxed in my second pregnancy.
thanks
