Weaning off pacifier

Ok so my LO is reaching 6mo about 2weeks later. im trying to wean off the pacifer taking..She is not addicted to it but due to teething she start to rely on it more than usual. She only use it to sleep( mostly spitting out after she fallen asleep) or she is throwing tantrum. So right now im using the tactics by when i make her sleep about (90%) i will try to pull out with my pinky. So far is okay when she on my arms until i put her down to her crib she immediately trying to turn or flip to tummy and cry. If she is with pacifer she can sleep with her back. Any other ways for me to do? it as idw her to rely on it anymore. Idw cold turkey it as my mental couldnt take her continously crying...
