Mummy symptoms

Hi Mums, my wife is aged 33 & in her 12th week. She is already experiencing, bloating, bad appetite, leg cramps, neck aches, sleepless nights & frequent urination ever since 6th week. Is this normal? When we check with the doc, he says nothing can be done & symptoms differ from people to people. Wanted to bring her for a neck & shoulder massage but many places would not do it. Older folks even told us that I should not give her a massage as we do not know by pressing the wrong nerve, it might cause miscarriages. We are even told, we cannot use heat plaster. I am really at a lost on what we should do. It pains me to be not able to do anything when my wife is complaining. Sometimes, I even ask myself if we should have been more careful. (We however do love kids) Regards, A lost Daddy to be..

1. For bloating: monitor what will cause it or worsen it. Some safe food that you are careful with does not mean her body accept it. Avoid that first to feel better. Of cos. "cold" food like Chinese white cabbages and cold drinks should stop. Sometimes tea too. 2. Ru yi you/moderate use of peppermint: I use ru yi you / eagle brand eucalyptus oild for my tummy almost everyday for bloating. N Abit of peppermint oil ( edible grade) on my calves Everytime before I sleep, with hubs massage. It helps to stopped my cramps. 3. Mild strolling/stretching helps abit too. After meal for digestion n for the legs. 1st trim is usually like that. Will be getter.

Doctor is right, symptoms and severity do differ from person to person. Prenatal massage usually starts only from 2nd trimester onwards but it is usually only a temporary relief. And yes, don't use medicated plasters. You can try to use a heated pad to relieve aches and pains. Compression stockings to reduce water retention (if any). However, if you notice significant water retention, e.g. not bring able to flex joints, bring it to the doctor's notice as it can be symptomatic of pregnancy complications.

I had the same symptoms. I had my husband massage my feet and neck lightly with some heat rub. Dr says its fine as long as you avoid the stomach area. Do whatever will help her feel better. Munch on healthier snacks to help with nausea, dried ginger, ginger tea, prunes. That helped me a lot. It will ease up when 2nd trimester comes

Youre a wonderful husband if I may say so! Yeah but pretty nothing much you can do there except maybe help her with the housework so that she can get plenty of rest. Take care y'all!

Bloating, nausea all these are normal esp for 1st trimester. It will get better soon! Hang in there! Meanwhile maybe u can give her moral support and light massages

Really nothing she can do right now to ease the uncomfortableness. All will go away real soon. Husband can help out on household chores so she can rest more!

Is part of the pregnant journey. Maybe u can thk bb is healthy that's why mummy alot symptom. Hope this can make ur wife feel better

Can only go for pre natal massages. The rest are common symptoms. Some goes way when they’re in second trimester

After 13 weeks can go for prenatal massage. Can go for the trail one first to see if she feel better.

Thank u all for the replies. I guess I would just have to comfort her & cheer her on. 😁
