Comfort item

Hi mummies, when do you introduce comfort items to your lo? Cause my lo (13 wks) is gg ifc and I hope that he can have smth to seek comfort in.. we have a comfort blanket but since blanket/pillow/bolster is not allowed when sleeping, then when should I give him the comfort item?
