not allowed to eat crab while pregnant

Hey moms, I'm feeling really sad right now. For the past two weeks, I've been craving crab, but my mother-in-law won't let me eat even a little bit. My husband always follows her lead, so he's constantly watching over me... I love crab, and I've been avoiding it since I got pregnant. But for some reason, I've been craving it so much in the past two weeks!!! I've been crying a lot and feeling stressed... sometimes I even feel small contractions in my belly. My mother-in-law says that if I eat crab, my child will become hyperactive... Is that true, moms?

If youre in the early pregnancy, it’s best to avoid crab as it’s “cold”. I love crab too, had little bit for maybe two times during my pregnancy. Just go eat in moderation with your friends.

Pls don’t be too hard on yourself. I don’t think that’s true it’s just a superstition, do talk to your hubby about how you really feel. Once in awhile to eat crab is fine.

Huh what logic is this? Just eat whatever you want to eat haha. Pregnancy is already hard enough no need to listen to empty noise that has no scientific backing.

I didn't restrict myself from any food throughout my pregnancy except raw stuffs.. like sushi... my baby's doing great and I'm 38 weeks now..

not true, just a myth. I eat crabs and lobsters during my pregnancy, but I make sure it's fully cooked and eat from reputable restaurants.

i ate crabs almost my whole entire journey. Every week my grandma always cooks for me crabs as i always craving for it.

don't think that's true... I've had a lot of crabs while pregnant :)

not true, I didn't eat crab throughout but my boy is super active
