sign of a smart baby?????

Mom, is it true that an active and rarely sleeping baby is a sign of intelligence? My child is really difficult to get to nap... they want to play, read books, play with Lego, and similar activities... they also can already show what they want quite well. According to the doctor, their speech development is quite good for their age. Many people say my baby is smart... but I'm actually worried about their growth because according to sources I've read, sleep is very important at their current age 😢

Sleep really is important for brain development at this age, so I would bring it up with your PD at the next visit just to make sure everything is on track. That said, it sounds like your child is thriving in so many ways, which is really lovely to hear. The doctor can help you figure out if the nap resistance is just a personality thing or something to work on.
