Is it a must to shave baby's hair?

My mom kept commenting that we should shave our 7m baby hair — saying that their generation does that and babies' hair all grow out healthy / smooth — and never shave makes it grow out ugly/uneven. Seriously is that necessary? #firsttimemom #Needadvice

DEAR mummy, I wanna say that G-ds creation is so amazing. babies are so wonderfully and fearfully created. I DID NOT shave any of my babies head until much later when I needed to. my no 2 is a girl and ppl keep telling me need to cut her hair until TODAY. Shes 18 mths and she has TOTALLY BEAUTIFUL hair. not gg to lie.. After she was born, her hair was funny looking and short. More on some parts. after a few months, NATURALLY, bb hair drops.. and new ones grow out. I ddint hv to do anything but nature took care of it. SO if you not wanna shave ur bb head its PERFECTLY fine. both my kids hv hair that PPL NOW look with envy. Not kidding..

I liked the hygiene aspect of this, which is to clean post birth fluids. But in this time and age we have water heaters and good soap unlike older generation so meh? The hair growing bit is subjective truly. It was great for my cousins and nieces/nephews but lol my poor baby looked like an M shape balding man for a good six months. So once again meh

i did shave my baby's hair at 1 month old. tradition is one reason. but my main reason is because baby's hair stick to the head and looks "lumpy" or "oily" no matter how often we wash her hair. once we shaved and her hair grows, we finally can see her hair strands. lol. so yeah.. maybe for hygiene purpose too..

Hi shaving the birth hair is for cleanliness purpose as in the womb baby is in amniotic fluid and some urine tooo while delivering also it comes out with poop and urine . It is a belief that keeping the birth hair for long years makes baby sick

older generation believed that shaving at 1st month will grow their hair more beautifully. I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews and they really all have very nice hairs. I will do it too after I've given birth :)

my 1st born shave 1 month old and 4 months old, after that slow as grow old than cut, 2 born shave at 1 month and 4 months than 19 months when to cut a little after that when request by them than cut

Hi Mummy, its all up to individual. Follow your heart. And do what you want for your baby. Same goes my MIL, keep on asking to shave or cut my babies hair. And i firmly say i dont want too.

I didn’t follow at all. My baby had a shave only after he past 1 year old.

its good can do that
