Placenta previa @ 19 weeks.

Mild cramping + light bright red bleeding (size of 5 cents coin) so i went to kkh urgent o&g to be seen. Baby's thankfully ok but I was diagnosed with placenta previa @ 19 weeks. First time and this is my 4th pregnancy. Doc mentioned nothing can be done only to monitor spotting if it turns to heavier bleeding etc, and to let nature takes its course. I read that placenta will continuously move ard until up to 32 weeks. Trying to be optimistic from that but feeling so down from this :( anyone with similar experience and how do you overcome?#Needadvice #askmommies #momindistress

It's really tough when you get news like that, especially at a scan, but the good news is your doctor is right that most placentas do move as the uterus grows, so there's still a fair chance things will sort themselves out by the third trimester. I know it's hard to stay positive when you're spotting and scared, but try to take it one week at a time rather than catastrophizing the whole pregnancy, and keep those follow-up scans so you have concrete updates instead of just worrying in your head. With your fourth pregnancy you probably know your body quite well already, so just trust that you'll notice if things get worse and you can call KKH straightaway if the bleeding increases. Hang in there, most cases do resolve.

Hiii sorry i dont have a solution but im on my second pregnancy (first was csec) and my placenta is currently a little low but my gynae is not too concerned yet. Im also hoping that it will slowly move upwards but i read that the placenta doesnt actually move but rather it seems to move because over time the womb expands. Just have to really avoid intercourse and strenuous activity for now. Let’s pray for the best!!
