May I know how to bathe a baby? I'm using cetaphil baby soap. The soap should be added into water? or apply the soap directly on baby's body? Should I use water to rinse off the soap after that?
In my case, I never put soap in baby's bath tub. Firstly use a baby bath seat where you can make the baby recline a little, so that there are no chances of baby slipping out of hand and falling. First of all hold the baby's head in your plan and wash the baby's head taking care that water doesn't fall on his face. Then with cotton you can wipe the face. Do to apply any soap on the face. Then you can rub a little soap on your hand and apply on the baby, and then wash off with water. I think the use of soap should be minimal. Because, though the companies claim the soaps not having any chemicals but still cannot be fully trusted. Better use herbals soaps.
Read morewhat i understamd from d nurses in hospital is to pour a small amt into the tub of water before bathing a baby. this is to prevent any unnecessary mishaps of spilling the soap on baby face or dropping the baby into the water while holding the btl. always in mind to hold bb at all times when bathing especially when they are still not able to sit upright
Read moreMay I ask how young is your baby? As recommended by skin specialist, there is no need to use shower cream for baby younger than 3 months old as it might removed away the nature skin protection barrier that baby is born with. Otherwise, you can follow the instructions given by the mommies above.
When baby is young, I will use cotton to wipe baby's eyes, ears and face first. After that I will wash baby's hair using shampoo and dab it dry. This is followed by putting baby's body into the bath tub and apply soap onto baby's body. I prefer not to put soap into baby's bath tub directly.
My cousin adds the soap into the water as she is worried that putting soap on the baby may make the baby too slippery and she may drop her. Also, she only uses a moderate amount (a few drops) so that the water is not too soapy.
So sorry!! I didn't see your reply till now. Yes, my cousin will do a quick rinse with water to wash off the soapy water. Sorry again!!

Our practice - for infants, we use cotton to apply the soap diluted in water so that any chemicals won't hurt baby's skin. Then immediately rinse with water, no need to let it stay long on your baby's skin.
Dear I never use soap. I'm using Mamaearth baby bath for my daughter. It is liquid & very easily to use baby's skin. It is natural & clinically tested product.
