Aiyoh, don't worry, it's totally normal! After delivery, you'll have bleeding (lochia) for usually 2-6 weeks, and it's heaviest in the first week or so, so yes, like a super heavy period lah. For pads, get the maternity pads from pharmacy or supermarket (they're longer and thicker), and honestly, stock up la, I'd say grab at least 2-3 big packets for the first week because you'll be changing them quite frequently, then can adjust as the bleeding gets lighter. My few mum friends and I all recommend keeping a stash ready at home before you come back from hospital, makes life so much easier when you're recovering! Best to ask your gynae or midwife how much bleeding is normal for you specifically, but if it soaks through a pad in less than an hour or you're passing clots the size of golf balls later on, that's when you check with the doc okay.
