I'm in my 34weeks now, during my latest scan (few days ago), was told my baby was weighing less than 2kg. Is it ok? Or do I have to eat something for the baby to absorb and gain as much weigh as possible for the remaining 5 weeks?

Unless if your gynae told you there is a concern about baby's wt, if not relax and enjoying the remaining weeks before you pop!=) Relax and eat the food that you like...as you know during confinement alot of food got to avoid. If you are worried you may wish to consult your gynae. For yourself, eat well and rest well. Heard many people saying eating durians and drink FM help in baby's wt gain. You can try. Most importantly baby is healthy!=)

Not to worry so much on the weight of the baby unless your gynae says that it is of a concern. Most importantly is that the baby is growing well. Some baby is not too big at birth and this is actually good too as it will be easier for delivery ... Big babies will be tough to deliver naturally and some ended up in C-section. It also depends on the body weight of the parents and mummy's diet.

Ultrasound scan is not a good indicator in estimating the size of your baby. It's accuracy is only about 40%. Eating a balance diet and focus on digestion is important. Do talk to your baby, rubbing of belly all can help baby grow. You can consider seeking help from TCM physician, Ayurveda Doctor or Naturopathy Doctor for advice on nutrition.

Currently 35 weeks pregnant and baby was on the small side for my last few checks. My last check (34 weeks) baby's weight is 2.1kg, so far so good. Don't worry too much mummy! Baby will gain a lot of weight during the last few weeks. Gynae also said that a smaller baby will be easier to deliver as compared to a bigger size baby.

Hi can I ask, Isit during first and second trimester didn't eat well or...?

Your obstetrician would have recommended u on what you should do. If never, call and ask. If he /she doesn't bother, then not a major cause for concern. If not, the doc will definitely tell u on the possible diet to help your unborn child.

Doctor only say have to observe closely. Will be going back for scanning in 3 weeks time to see the progress if baby is growing well.

Yes, durian is a super weight booster for babies! Can try chicken essence, durian, egg, lean meat. Eat healthy food with more nutrients so baby can take in more. Baby come out a bit chubbier easy to look after too.
