Eh don't worry too much, a little yellowish discharge at day 8 is actually something quite a few mums I know went through, the wound does take around 7 to 10 days to really start drying out properly, so you're right at that borderline stage. Good thing you went to the GP already and she had a look, the key things to watch out for from here are if it starts smelling bad, turns greenish or brown, becomes very swollen or warm to the touch, or if the pain gets worse instead of better, because those are the signs that it's going more in the wrong direction. The new waterproof bandage should help keep it clean and protected while it finishes healing, just try to keep the area dry and don't stress it with too much movement. That said, since every wound heals differently, it's really worth following up with your gynae or the hospital team rather than just the GP, just so someone who knows your full case can keep an eye on it, better safe than sorry, especially in the first two weeks!
