I was immediately terminated by company upon informing about my pregnancy with compensation of 4mths maternity. Hr sent a "reminder" note to me stating that i have to produce my child's birth cert once i have delivered in order for them to file the claims from govt. Am I obliged to give them?

Can I clarify what you mean in your first line? Do u mean they are going to compensate you 4 months worth of salary for your maternity leave? If so, a birth cert is required for them to file for the claims. The government pays 1 month while the company bears the remaining 3 months. In other words, even though you are terminated they are paying you 4 months of maternity leave right? In a way it is like a severance pay. You can contact MOM to find out your rights before accepting the company's terms or negotiate with them. Discuss with your family what is the best option for you in your current situation. I have heard of worse practice where the staff is let go without any compensation. With all that considered, remember not to stress yourself and your unborn. Your baby and your well being are more important. All the best to you, have a smooth pregnancy!
