glucose tolerance test is draw blood or poke small hole on finger to test?

I can't imagine having to draw tubes of blood within 2 hours. One before drinking glucose and one hour after drinking.

mine was just a finger prick test leh. I got my finger pricked at 2 different times. I'm under a private gynae though not sure if this matters.
