When should I announce my pregnancy to my close family and close mentor?

Guess alot of us have this question, when should we tell? I'm 42yo and at week 7-ish, had a miscarriage 2 years ago so had some concerns when to tell. As much as I very much wanna share this great news but also scare =(

I totally get the mixed feelings, that excitement paired with the "but what if" worry is so real, especially with your history. Honestly, most mums I know told their very close family and mentors somewhere between 8-12 weeks, mainly because the miscarriage risk does drop quite a bit after the first trimester, so it felt safer. That said, a few people I know told their closest people earlier (like now, at 7 weeks) because they needed that emotional support and felt the risk was worth it for them, there's really no wrong timing, just what feels right for you. At 42, you might also want to know that some of the mums in my group mentioned having an earlier scan or bloodwork done just to feel more reassured before telling anyone, which can help calm those nerves a bit. Whatever you decide, I'd say tell the people you'd actually want support from if something went wrong, rather than just waiting for a "safe" number on the calendar. All the best with your pregnancy, hope this one sticks beautifully.

understand your concerns! for myself, we told close family before 12 weeks, for them to share in our joy and also keep us in prayer together. also they are people we would be comfortable sharing miscarriage news with should anything unfortunate happen. whereas all other friends/colleagues we only told after the 12 week mark, where pregnancies are generally more stable and less likely to miscarriage
