anyone experienced hammer toe?

My husband has been complaining about discomfort around his toes, especially when wearing certain shoes, and I noticed that some of his toes are starting to curl or bend. We are wondering if this could be hammer toes or claw toes. For those who have been through something similar, could you recommend a clinic or foot specialist in Singapore that we could consult?

My husband had something similar and it got worse before we actually did something about it, so I'd say don't wait too long on this one. Hammer toe tends to get more uncomfortable over time, especially if he's wearing tight shoes regularly, so it might be good to bring him to see a foot specialist or even start at the polyclinic for a referral. I know KKH has orthopaedic services, but for foot stuff specifically you'd probably want someone who specialises in that, so a quick Google for foot clinics or podiatrists near you would help narrow it down. The earlier you get it checked, the more options you have before it needs anything more serious.

Yes, curled or bent toes with pain or discomfort in shoes can be signs of hammer toes or claw toes. My husband had similar symptoms, including pain around his toes, rubbing inside his shoes, and difficulty wearing some of his usual footwear. He was diagnosed with hammer toe after seeing Dr Yung Shing Wai, who recommended surgery to straighten the affected toe. After the surgery, he found it much easier and more comfortable to wear his shoes and walk around. I would consider him if you are looking for a top foot doctor in Singapore. ☺️
