You can refer to this diagram for the severity of the diaper rash. Normally it appears 2-3days if baby is allergic to the diaper brand or due to irritation from stool and urine or bacterial/yeast (fungal) infection. You will notice there are some red bumps and rashes around the butt area or private area. When there is a diaper rash, you may want to stop using disposable diaper and switch to cloth diaper for the time being until the rashes are subsided. Also, wash baby's bump each time after urine and poop to ensure the affected area is cleaned. After each wash, apply diaper rash cream and MooGoo Nappy Balm is highly recommended due to its natural ingredients and healing properties (you can purchase from Spring Maternity). Normally after 3-5days condition will get better. Have your child examined if the rash: -Is severe or unusual -Gets worse despite home treatment -Bleeds, itches or oozes -Causes burning or pain with urination or a bowel movement -Is accompanied by a fever http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diaper-rash/basics/symptoms/con-20019220

hi, i found this article that will help you identify if your baby has a diaper rash or some other infection that may be causing the rash https://www.desitin.com/identifying-diaper-rash/how-to-identify-diaper-rash and here is another link that will help you identify whether it is a diaper rash or a yeast infection http://www.growingupherbal.com/is-your-babys-rash-diaper-rash-or-yeast-rash/ one of the best remedies for diaper rash is to use coconut oil. make sure you remove the diaper and clean the area with water, then pat it dry. once dry, use coconut oil to gently massage the area and let the area be open for some time, without baby being in a nappy. you can simply use this home remedy if the rash is not severe. if you do not see any improvement, or if your baby is uncomfortable, make sure to check for a good diaper rash cream from the doctor.

My son had a bad case of diaper rash when he had diarrhoea when he was 2 months old. What I did was to wash him bum with regular water + cotton balls, air dry his bum for as long as I dare before putting on his diaper rash cream (I use Mustela). It cleared up in less than a week. After that incident, it's been a protocol to airdry his bum before putting on the diaper rash cream. Better to prevent than cure it
