The thing is, some hospitals do have forms or consent sections during your pre-admission or first check-in that cover teaching scenarios, but not all mums catch it or realise what they're signing, it's easy to miss when you're overwhelmed with paperwork. I'd suggest being very direct when you're admitted: ask the midwife or doctor straight up whether teaching rounds happen on your ward, and make it clear you want to be asked permission before anyone comes in, especially during active labour. Most doctors will respect that boundary if you state it clearly. Definitely worth checking with your own doctor or the hospital's patient relations team about their policy and what your actual options are, you have more say than you might think.
