Hypospadias surgery

Has anyone been through hypospadias surgery for their child? My son was diagnosed with it & doc says to come back when he turns 1 for the surgery. Wanted to know if anyone been through this & hows the healing process & condition of your child after surgery.

My nephew went through this surgery around that age too, and the recovery did take some patience as there is a catheter involved for a while and you have to be careful during diaper changes, but he healed well and is totally fine now. It might be worth asking your PD or the specialist upfront about what to expect post-op, like how long the catheter stays in and what wound care looks like, so you feel more prepared going in.
