New vs Hand-me-down

A FTM here. Just want to know do you prefer everything new for your baby or will you accept hand me downs ie clothes and such?

I prefer hand me downs 1st as baby might have their preferences eg milk bottle. And they grow up fast so i don't buy a lot of clothes. Once i see wat i need then only i buy
