Question about packing hospital bag and Mt Alvernia hospital

Hi everyone, currently 38w and just finished packing my hospital bag... some people have advised to pack snacks (going for natural delivery) and to bring along breast pump... Qn is... Will I even have time to snack? Also, heard that first day milk supply will not be much, how to pump? I'm wondering if I'd need to bring along the milk bottles, bottle soaps etc to keep it all clean during the hospital stay... Separately, has anyone stayed in Mt A recently? Have they changed the sofa for dads to something more comfortable and should we bring along blanket for daddy? Please advise... #help #advice #hospitalbag #baby #mummy

Mine natural at MA. I brought my pumps but didn’t get to use. I was kinda learning latching and didn’t have milk supply. I guess you are staying single room too with husband staying? You will be reserving meals for both of you then. If you want snacks, your husband can pop down to the shops. The disposable maternity fabric underwear & biore cooling body wipes were useful for me. I struggled to walk, was bleeding a lot & used the wipes instead of showering on first day PP in order not to shock my body. Not sure about the couch but I think it’s good practice for men to sleep on couch.

Hihi if you didn't have a milk supply in the beginning what did the baby have at that time then?

Gave birth in Sept 2023 in MA. They do provide pillow and thin blankets for daddy. If your husband doesn’t take to the cold well, can bring along a blanket so it’s more comfy. My hubby slept pretty well with whatever hosp provided. And the meals selections are pretty good too. Oh. You might want to bring snacks cause they won’t provide food for daddy when you’re in the delivery suite. So I got to eat but my hubs needed to go downstairs to buy his meals when I was still in labour in the delivery suite. There isn’t much food options to buy in MA. All the best!

no need to bring pumps. First few days the milk supply won't kick in much yet. just need to massage and the hosp nurses will guide. when you reach home 2 3 days later, then your milk supply boost and breast gets engorged. snacks can just buy a bit for husb. haha cos when you're admitted etc, cannot consume food anymore. just a little water. that's it. you need to get ready for the push. before you're discharged, just get a nurse to feed your baby. Just nice the trip home, baby will be full and sleep throughout. you can do this :)
