Did anyone use a low lying mattress for infants/newborns to sleep on? Is it safe?

some parents place their newborn on matteress to sleep. But usually for afternoon nap time in the living room where everyone can see the baby. Not recommend at night esp if your spouse wakes up to go toilet as he may not notice LO is there sleeping. Best to put in cot for night time

depend where you put ... If in their whole room i think fine. But if in a shared room i think its dangerous.. In afternoon nap as long as someone there to monitor fine . If not i will suggest a baby cot to be safe

Depends on how low? I will put him on mattress for afternoon nap. I will put a rattan mat then put the mattress then baby can sleep or play there - tile floors are cold

If say no especially in the night. Cause can't see. But who else sleepis there. And is there anything to block? How old is your child?
