This looks too serious. Please get immediate help from another PD. My daughter also had the same very bad eczema around her neck area - went to a PD and she only issued Ceradan cream and said “can’t be helped - can only stay indoors and avoid heat & perspiration.” Her neck worsened badly thereafter. I took her to another PD who diagnosed that her neck is already inflamed and issued me a cream (unfortunately with steroids) to stop the inflammation for 1-2 days before stopping it & putting Bioderma intensive balm on her neck which is what National Skin Center uses too. Within 1-2 weeks her neck recovered fully though skin is still a little dry. Please seek urgent help before it gets worse for your LO.

Please whatever you do, do not apply steriod cream on your daughter. Topical steriod withdrawal is super bad. My hubby is going through it and the skin is never the same again. Try using ezerra cream (can be found in guardian/Watsons), use milder soap like cethapil baby. Eczema is all about trial and error on which product suits your daughter the most. We spent a lot of money trying to find the most suitable product for my hubby so please don't give up. Hang in there mummy! I know it's heart pain to see your dd having eczema.

Please go and look for 2nd PD. Try googling for good PD for skin problem, my baby last time also having serious eczema, PD prescribed ceradan wash for baby shower and ceradan lotion to apply on face and whole body. Until now, the skin looks very good. But have to apply everyday. Please go and see PD. If the PD gives u lotion to apply, please ask the doctor to show u how to apply. Sometimes the way how we apply from doctor if different can causing really different result. Last time my PD show & teach me. Jiayou mummy!!

Oh dear! It looks very red and bad. Just using moisturiser will not help. Please go to a different PD if the meds aren’t working - would suggest to avoid home remedies for now as it looks very serious. PD might prescribe steroid cream - sometimes it is necessary to use that to get the redness/oozing under control first before stepping down the use of steroid cream.

Super Mum

Hi mummy, I bby had an outbreak too recently. Just to share what i did. Wash or wipe the area clean with cool BOILED water, dap dry and apply corn flour and let it sit. Keep apply for few days till it dries up. (mine lo dries up within a day) Once dries up, start applying moisturiser. And always clean the area

I put this on my son when he was 2 months old. He had redness around his neck. Due to his milk accumulated. After a couple of days. Redness reduced. Always clean & keep the neck dry. Now he is 4 months old. No more redness 😊

OMG. Poor thing. 😢 My girl has infected eczema at some point but not this bad. Our PD prescribed oral antibiotics (added to BM) and hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone is potent but try not to apply excessively.

My daughter used to have very bad eczema when she's a baby too. So we went to polyclinic and got referral letter to kkh skin specialist. They will prescribe antibiotic and cream that treats open wound.

I read somewhere before that it could be the “hard” tap water we use to bathe our babies that’s causing eczema. Try bathing baby in purified water(bottled water) see if it helps.
