It depends on the surroundings. “How isolated” is the real question. Human children learn by imitating and identifying the reactions to these communications. Like, when we say food and use hand gestures, kids confirms the action and result. They then try to do the same next time and expect the same result. If we leave them in isolation i.e. no human contact (even of their parents) then they will learn from the environment. If they are resilient to survive they will learn from interactions with plants, animals and other humans.

When you mean isolation do you mean no siblings ? Surely there are some adults around the child throughout the day. Children definitely need to have people around them to pick up better language skills and communication skill and not forgetting social skill. If your child has no siblings the main caretaker and you and your husband should try to talk to her more. But if you mean isolation like totally no one around her then you should solve the isolation issue first

I don't think i understand your query completely, especially the total isolation part. do you mean the child will grow up without any other human company? in that case, the child will still learn to communicate and form a language based on sign, as well as the sounds he or she hears nearby, such as the sound of birds, or vehicles, or animals, or even the rustling of leaves and the chirping of crickets.

if by isolation you mean no siblings or friends but only parents or other grownups, then yes, your child will obviously still develop a language, depending on what the grown ups are speaking. your child will also make his own sign language to communicate.
